Cheese Making Courses 2010

Hagley Bridge Farm is proud to offer a range of cheese-making courses designed to suit all levels of ability and interest. We offer 1 and 2 day courses for those interested in learning how to make soft and hard cheese, yogurt, butter and some cream products. Whether you are an absolute beginner or have some knowledge of cheese making we have a course here to suit you.

Two Day Weekend Creative Activity Break

Cost: £235 (VAT inc)

This course is intended to be relaxed yet informative, and we hope a lot of fun! Numbers are restricted to six, allowing for a degree of flexibility and attention to individuals needs. Our aim is for you to be as hands on as possible as we believe the best way to learn is through participation, with emphasis on practical skills rather than concentrating on the technical or theoretical aspects.

With 20 years experience in the dairy industry, to draw on we believe you will return home with the knowledge and confidence to enable you to produce a variety dairy products for your family and friends to enjoy.

It is possible to create a wide range of delicious and interesting dairy products, from supermarket milk. However if you have a desire to keep your own dairy animals there is the opportunity on this course to look at animal husbandry, milking facilities,and other related subjects if you wish. You will of course be able to take home products you have made as well as a notebook with information and recipes relating to the course.

One Day Basic introduction to Making Dairy Products

(based on 4 more attending)

Cost: £58.75 (VAT inc)

Learn to make soft cheese, yogurt and butter. Or a day learning the various techniques involved in making hard cheese or Mediterranean cheese. Practical courses using small-scale/ kitchen equipment to learn how to make delicious dairy products at home for your family to enjoy.

One-to-One Tuition Days

Cost: £117.50 (VAT inc)

Tailor made for the individual looking to develop  a particular product,aimed at those considering or already involved in commercial/ home production

Accommodation


Many of our guests regard this course as an excellent opportunity for a short break in the country, with an entertaining activity laid on! With this in mind, if you have a partner who wishes to come with you but not take part in the course or perhaps you wish to extend your holiday. Hagley Bridge Farm is in an A.O.N.B. (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty) Ideal for walking, cycling, riding, fishing and golf nearby. We can also offer clay pigeon instruction and practice on the farm with a qualified instructor.

Limited accommodation is available in the farmhouse and a list of very local accommodation is available on request. Contact Taunton Tourist Information Centre for a more comprehensive choice of places to stay in the area.

Accommodation is available in the farmhouse @ £35.00 pppn on a B&B basis or we can advise on other local places to stay.
